Smith: Performance Sunglasses, Goggles, Helmets, & More

With over 50 years of innovation, Smith is an industry leader in sports eyewear and helmets. In 1965 Dr. Bob Smith, orthodontist and original ski bum, began experimenting with the eyewear he was wearing on the slopes. After much testing and revisions, he developed the first ski goggles with sealed thermal lens and breathable vent foam. Realizing he had made something special, Smith began building more of his goggles in his garage and selling them out of his van on weekend ski trips in Utah and Colorado. After receiving countless tips and tons of feedback from local skiers and snowboarders, he refined his design even further and decided to go all out with his new company. And so Smith was born.

Since then, Smith has continued to innovate with their sunglasses, goggles, bike helmets, and ski helmets. For 50+ years Smith has been at the forefront of its industry, constantly improving the performance of its products. Their sunglasses and goggles use the finest lenses and show colors vibrantly, while their helmets keep you safe, warm, and comfortable. For an awesome bike helmet, try the Smith Network Mips Helmet, or for amazing ski helmets, try the Smith Women's Liberty Mips. For a great pair of snow goggles, try the Smith I/Os and for a great pair of sunglasses, try the Smith Serpico Slim 2. From the mountain to the trail, Smith has the perfect eyewear and helmets to keep you comfortable and safe.

At OutlandUSA.com, we have heard first hand from many skiers, boarders, and bikers that Smith gear is some of the best. Give Smith a try.

 Questions & Tips

Q: How do I change the lenses on my goggles?

If you have an I/O or interchangeable series goggle, follow the instructions included with the product or in this video guide.

If you have a full-frame goggle follow these Instructions:

  1. Carefully remove the old lens by separating the frame from the lens.
  2. Begin at the top and work around the perimeter of the frame.
  3. When installing the new lens, start with the nose and work around the sides until you get to the top.
Q: What is Polarization?

Polarization is like noise-canceling headphones for your eyes. Glare off of horizontal surfaces like snow, water, and asphalt, decreases depth perception, reduces visual acuity, and causes eye fatigue. We precisely align the polarized visual layer inside our lenses to filter out 99.9% of this 'visual static' for a finely tuned view of the action.
