Nemo: Lightweight & Durable Tents, Bags, & More for Hiking, Camping & Backpacking

At it's core, NEMO is a brand all about innovation. While on a mountaineering trip on Mt. Washington, founder Cam Brensinger became fed up with the poorly designed bivy that struggled to protect him against a sudden storm. Right away, Cam set out to create a better camping tent as his senior project in design school. His solution was a simple, but brilliant one: replace the brittle and unwieldy tent poles with low-pressure airbeams. These inflatable supports were not only lighter and easier to set up, they stood up better to high wind because they couldn't snap and break.

This focus on out-of-the-box problem solving is at the heart of every NEMO tent, chair, pad, shower, and sleeping bag. With each new product design their aim is to create a solution that has never before been tried. This dedication can especially be seen in awesome camping sleeping bags, like the Women's Riff 30, which offer the same amazing warmth as most mummy bags, but with a less restrictive spoon shape that's perfect for side sleepers. Likewise, their Stargaze Recliner brings outdoor comfort to a new level as the first ever swinging and reclining camp chair. Need a way to wash dishes? NEMO has the Helio Pressure Shower which can easily deliver steady water pressure on the go. NEMO is truly unique in their approach, pushing constantly to improve every design and to invent new ways to solve each problem.

Beyond their ability to solve problems, everything NEMO makes is simply quality. Their camping tents, sleeping bags, camping chairs, and sleeping pads are all incredibly comfortable, light, and durable. With NEMO you can get out and do the things you love, confident that your gear is up to nearly any challenge. Be sure to check the FAQ bellow for even more information about NEMO.

NEMO works to maintain spare parts for many models, new and old — contact us and we'll be happy to fill out a part request for you . Please note that spare parts and accessories for discontinued models may not always be available but well work hard to find what youre looking for.

Q: Whats better for me: an insulated or uninsulated pad?

If youll be using the sleeping pad in a cold environment, wed suggest an insulated pad which will keep you warm down to air temperatures of 15-25 degrees. If youre going to be in a warmer environment, consider an uninsulated pad which still insulate well down to an air temperature range of 30-40 degrees. Keep in mind that your pad and sleeping bag work together to keep you warm, so make sure to choose an appropriate sleeping bag too!

Q: Is NEMO down responsibly sourced?

NEMO Equipment is committed to environmentally responsible practices in all aspects of our business, including the sourcing of our down. All of the down used in their products is Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certified and comes from birds that were not force fed or live plucked.

Q: Whats the difference between packed and minimum weight?

Minimum weight includes the tent body, rain fly and poles in all freestanding shelters. In the case of non-freestanding shelters, the tents stakes will also be included in this weight. The packed weight includes everything that ships with the tent including the hang tags and the plastic bag the tent arrives in. For most users, a true trail weight will be somewhere between these listed weights.

Q: Do NEMO sleeping bags zip together?

Any mens sleeping bag can be attached to any womens sleeping bag of the same product series.

Q: What does NEMO mean?

The name NEMO started out as an acronym for New England Mountain Outfitters and was a nod to Jules Vernes Captain Nemo, an adventurer, moral crusader, and engineer. In Latin, Nemo means No Man, and in Mandarin it translates as Square.
