Bell Sports

A Legacy of Championship and Confidence

Bell Sports: Amazing Helmets for Biking & Motor Sports

It's no coincidence that Bell is both the first name in speed and the first name in helmets. Born in the 1950's California hot rod and racing scene, Bell founder Roy Richter built an entire industry anticipating the unmet needs of those with a speed-hungry disposition. Roy was famous for creating the world's first speed shop, where he built his racecars and hot rods. An integral part of the speed community, he recognized the dangers of this extreme sport and set out to design helmets with as much protection as possible. And so Bell Sports was born.

Bell exists to inspire and enable the next generation of boundary breakers. It is built from auto racing, motorcycle and bicycle culture. Throughout the years nearly every advance on the list of helmet firsts were built under Bell's auspices. That drive to anticipate and create has produced some of the world's best bike helmets, motorcycling helmets, and auto racing helmets. From the classic BellZ20 Mips Bike Helmet, to the Bell Sanction BMX Helmet, each helmet uses some of the most advanced technology to keep you safe.

Whether for auto racing, motorcycling or bicycling, Bell is synonymous with instilling confidence and enabling awesomeness. At OutlandUSA.com we are proud to carry a wide range of their helmets and recommended them to anyone wanting to ride fast. Give Bell a try.

 Questions & Tips

Q: Can I use my Bell bicycle helmet for other sports/activities besides cycling?

Each Bell helmet is certified for specific activities and should only be used for those sports. Almost all helmets listed under cycling are ONLY for cycling, with the exception of the Segment, Faction, and Fraction helmets which are certified for skate use as well as cycling.

Q: Can I paint my helmet?

Bell does not recommend paints or solvents of any kind be used on the helmets. They can damage a helmet so that its protective capabilities are significantly reduced.

Q: How often should a helmet be replaced?

Bell has a general recommendation of replacing your helmet every three (3) years.

Q: How do I take care of my helmet?

Cleaning Your Helmet

Helmets are made of materials that can be damaged by many commonly available cleaners. Petroleum based solvents or cleaners are especially dangerous. They can damage a helmet so that its protective capabilities are significantly reduced. Many times this damage is not visible. For best results, clean the helmet using a soft cloth or sponge, warm water and mild soap (such as a mild dish soap).
